Seriously, if they would have us believe that Yen would hang up her massive ambitions for good and settle down to a quiet life with Geralt away from politics and power, I'd eat my hat after it had fallen into a knee-deep sewage-filled pit.
Or that Triss and Geralt could live happily ever after despite all the things they've been through It was the lamest excuse yet. I saw no reason why he couldn't follow her around wherever she'd een assigned.
It's not like that world of theirs is ever lacking for monsters that need to be killed. They seemed happy and a perfect fit for one another.

Shani growing older and older, while Geralt does not change one bit? Geralt and Yen and Triss living maybe hundreds of years after Shani passes away?
Don't get me wrong - For me Shani is the most likable game personality, but if you think about it an real long lasting relation with Geralt would be an tragic affair for both of them.

Agreed, the way this turned out was fairly disappointing. In alot of ways HoS feels like those standalone W1 modules like "The Price of Neutrality" HoS is better made , it feels more like a minor short story that could have happened anytime after W1 and they just sandwiched it in near the end of this game's story, and it's really hard to swallow Shani's reasoning that Geralt will never settle down when Geralt settles down with either Triss or Yenn after the end of the game.

She didn't manipulate him or use a spell to sleep with him. The affection and attraction was mutual. I do have one gripe however and that's her argument for why it wouldn't work between them.
