Lunch is served back on the train as we continue north towards Penang. Relax before afternoon tea followed later by dinner, as the train travels towards Penang.
Day four Penang. Late luncheon is served on the train as we travel to Thailand. Board a catamaran to glide through the Gulf of Thailand, hopping from island to idyllic island with time to step ashore to enjoy the white sands.
Barbeque lunch is served on the catamaran before exploring another island. A farewell cocktail party is followed by a final exquisite dinner with local entertainment, including a saxophonist and a traditional puppet show.
Presidential Suite: Price on application. Afternoon departure allowing you to settle into your private cabin. The train sets off through the city, over the causeway into Malaysia and out into the countryside.
An indulgent afternoon tea is served after which you can spend time exploring the train. Later, following aperitifs, enjoy dinner in one of the opulent dining cars whilst the resident pianist plays in the Bar Car.
Before retiring to your cabin, enjoy a stroll through Kuala Lumpur's magnificent station. Retire to your cabin which has now converted into a bedroom.
Breakfast is served in your cabin before the day's adventures begin. Disembark at Butterworth, Penang for a tour of Georgetown, which includes Khoo Kongsi, the grandest clan temple complex in Malaysia, and the ornate Pinang Peranakan Mansion.
Following a delicious tiffin lunch at a local restaurant, you return to the train to relax over afternoon tea, watching the ever-changing scenery.
Later enjoy an elegant dinner as the train makes its way towards Thailand. Enjoy breakfast in your cabin and a leisurely day on the train.
In the evening, a sublime New Year's Dinner with a special celebratory menu is served on the train. After dinner, guests are invited to change into what they would like to wear for a beach party, and head down to the beach for a party with live music, champagne, fireworks and much more.

Single Travel. Bangkok : The check-in lounge is situated at Hualumpong on Platform 12 and is open 2 hours before departure.
Passengers boarding in Bangkok should allow for traffic congestion. Check-in desk opens from Uniformed staff will greet guests and take care of the check-in formalities.

Check in will be conducted at the Post Bar at Dress Code. Dress for relaxed comfort on excursions and as you move about the train. For sightseeing and visits off the train, comfortable clothing made of light and natural fabrics like breathable cotton and linen are recommended.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and mosquito repellent are advisable. As a visitor respectful of local customs, modest dressing is appreciated and necessary when visiting religious sites.
Shoes must be removed before entering temples, mosques, certain museums, galleries and private homes - advisable to wear shoes that are easy to remove.
Whilst visiting mosques, ladies are required to cover their head as well as their arms and legs. The dress code in the Restaurant Cars is smart casual with a touch of understated elegance.
Balmy afternoons call for light linens, smart full-length trousers and open-neck shirts. Befitting a grand and exclusive journey, we suggest a jacket for dinner.
Guests should still avoid jeans, shorts, slippers and trainers. Routings and itineraries are subject to change due to local conditions.
Please bear this in mind and allow for a minimum of five hours when making arrangements for flight connections, transfers, tours, business appointments or evening engagements etc.
Child Policy. Children are welcome on board, but there are certain restrictions such as children are not allowed into the bar car and dining in the dining cars is down to the Train Managers discretion.
Maximum occupancy of 2 guests per cabin. For example, for two adults and one child, 2 cabins must be booked; one adult must book a cabin for sole use or a single cabin.
International electric sockets volts and volt adapter for razors and an hair dryer in all cabins. This is limited to 30 kilos per person for Pullman and State Compartment passengers.
There is no limit for those passengers travelling in a Presidential Suite. Please keep your tickets, passports and any medication with you, do not pack them in your through or compartment luggage.

No special health certificates are required, but you should request advice from your medical practitioner or travel specialist.
Quarantine arrangements apply to travellers affected by yellow fever. Customs regulations are in line with those prevailing elsewhere in the world, however the importation of prohibited items carries serious penalties.
In particular, the importation of narcotics into Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore is treated very seriously. On conviction, the death penalty is still applied in certain cases.
You will be required to provide relevant information and hand over your passport at the appropriate times. Please note, however, that it is the responsibility of each individual passenger to ensure that they are in possession of the necessary and valid documentation.
