A guy finds out he has inherited 1. Instead of waiting for the courts to work this out, he decides to break into a haunted mental asylum with his thieving best friend, a mentally handicapped man, and Eliza Dushku.
And once we get there nothing is done with the setting which is an absolute shame as that is usually the only good thing about these types of movies.
There is nothing creepy here and you never feel the sort of tension that you are here for. They just run about and eventually fall into the never explained ghost world and then it all becomes horror by the numbers as they just copy and paste stuff from better movies but do it terribly.
Making it worse the story is just dumb. They felt the need to connect all the characters and it just didn't work. They also did the typical worst fear thing which always sounds like it would lead to some uncomfortable stuff but is always done in such a lame manner.
You have one thing that is always difficult to watch though, lobotomy scenes. So in fairness, they manage one scare in 1 hour and 28 minutes. They must have tricked the good actors that are in this somehow because this was just a bad movie.
This movie left me with a "wow" at the end and not many movies do. I love how they actually filmed this in Eloise.
Especially since I am a ghost buff and already knew so much about the place. I thought it was excellent. Acting was superb.
One part even made me cry and that is hard for any movie to do unless an animal is in it. But if you want a good creepy movie with twists and turns, then this is for you.

Eloise Cancer - Best of funny momentsWhen I came across this scrolling in my prime videos it was her face that popped up and intrigued me to watch it.
After all, a lot of her things have a gritty, dark, story or backstory and she delivers them smoothly. I was not disappointed with this movie and her acting at all.
It took me a minute to realize what was going on but when I put it together I was like "this is a clever play on emotions.
I had to cover my eyes a few times and a few other places I jumped. The pacing was slow at first but that only lasted a brief amount of time. Once they get into the asylum there's no going back and its fast-paced.
This could have been a fun tongue-in-cheek dark comedy, but really. It's just meh. Dushku plays a strong woman who is led through the asylum by a wishy-washy protagonist.
She exudes power on the screen, so I could not believe it. I did keep watching to see if anything scary would happen, but in the end, Robert Patrick and Eliza Dushku deserve so much better.
